All About Looks

Meagan Franklin described All About Looks as "Willie Wonka for Interior Designers!" I agree - it is definitely full of eye candy! We were able to see examples of beautiful fabrics, wall coverings and tour the drapery and upholstery workroom.

Thank you Nancy for the wonderful tour and information!

Dallas Design Center

Professor Collier organized a trip to the Dallas Design Center (residential design focus) and invited me to tag along and bring the Materials classes and graduate students.  By visiting the showrooms, the students had an opportunity for hands-on experience with the vendors and new products.  We even saw Laura Bush!

Tara and Rachel!

Beautiful details

Duy Pham is one of our graduate students who came on the trip.

Fiber and Biopolymer Research Institute

At the Fiber and Biopolymer Research Institute, the students were able to see the process converting cotton into yarn and then into cloth. Testing proceedures were also observed.

Senior Showcase 2011

Each year a special event is held to showcase the work of the seniors and is a time for their friends and family to come enjoy their accomplishments!  This year the Senior Showcase was held at the wonderful Jones AT&T Football Stadium.  I would like to wish this wonderful class of Interior Design Seniors good luck as they begin this new chapter of their lives!
A group photo of the seniors and their professors.
The seniors were asked to prepare posters to display past projects.

A competition was held to see which pair of seniors could come up with the best centerpiece.  This first place cupcake masterpiece was created by Emily and Kim.

Each year a senior is selected by design professionals as the "Outstanding Senior" based on their posters.  This year the award went to Abby Dickinson.  Congratulations, Abby!
A big thank you to all of the IIDA officers who contributed so much time and energy to the Senior Showcase this year!  We couldn't have done it without you.
