IIDA Student Conference 2011

This year Angie Crumrine, Abby Dickinson, Lupe Nevarez, and Crystal Hearn were selected to attend the IIDA Student Conference in Houston!  While at the conference, the attendees toured design facilities, spoke with professionals, and participated in a design charette.  Pictures of their design submissions for the charette are below.

Here the girls are seen with a fellow Red Raider, John Dubard of Parkhill, Smith & Cooper, Inc.  He was also the IIDA Texas/Oklahoma Chapter President!

TAID Legislative Day at the Capitol Poster

Texas Association for Interior Design (TAID) is an advocacy group speaking as a single unified voice on legislative issues which affect the business of interior design in Texas.  This year TAID organized a day (March 1st) at the capitol for design professionals and students to gather together and visit legislator offices.  TAID has requested that the Texas Tech Interior Design program submit a poster to be displayed during this time.

Here's what we submitted!

February 2011 ASID/IIDA Meeting

Heather Thames Rowland, a previous Texas Texas interior design graduate and Audrey Wolter, the current ASID student chapter president reconnect before the meeting!

Heather giving an insightful presentation on life since graduation and tips to her success!

There were plenty of questions from students for Heather to answer!

Heather handed out creative, self-designed business cards to all of the students.

The meeting was a great success!  Thank you Heather for coming and visiting us.

If you would like to find more information on Heather Thames Rowland and her design/photography business, you can find her website here!
